Pokémon Go’s new daily adventure fragrance is great news for rural players
Pokémon GoOur player base is divided into yes and no. Players living in large towns or cities can easily access many PokéStops to earn items, gyms to battle, and spawn where they can catch Pokémon. But for players in many rural and remote areas, Pokémon Go is a game of conservation, and sometimes starvation. Many players don’t have access to the daily PokéStop spins, where they can earn Poké Balls or encounter Pokémon in the wild.
Niantic has finally cleared up some unnecessary points: a new free item called Daily Adventure Incense that, for 15 minutes a day, brings you Pokémon, including creatures not normally found in nature. The only way is that you need to actively move for the incense to work. Players who use their daily Adventure Incense will receive a new Pokémon spawning every 30 seconds, similar to how the existing standard Incense item works when walking.
Daily Adventure Incense also comes with a bonus batch of Poké Balls, if the player is running low (meaning they have less or less total Poké Balls in their inventory when they pop a new flavor).
The best part? Free daily adventure incense and Pokémon Go players will get a new amount of that Perfume each day – but they can only hold one amount at a time.

Niantic has made some pandemic-related game concessions for Pokémon Go as of 2020, including the addition of the Remote Raid Card and making it easier for players to access PokéStops and gyms from a distance. Some of those changes were modify or cancel. Daily Adventure Incense is another kind of example, one that looks to the past, not just the present.
“Throughout these two years of this pandemic, what we’ve really been thinking about is how the world has changed in so many ways, in terms of people’s habits and daily routines,” Pokémon Go Live game director Michael Steranka told Polygon in an interview. “What we really want to do is meet the players where they are in this new environment and provide Pokémon Go experience for people who may be a little closer to home than they were two years ago and may not have a PokéStop near you that you can spin every day. “
Steranka said that a Pokémon Go The player he knows – his mother – is the main inspiration for the mobile game’s latest feature, which is launching to players this week.
“She plays Pokémon Go, but she lives in an area with no PokéStops nearby,” says Steranka. “So she was always begging me to send her presents and nothing to give her the Poké Balls she needed to play. So we really wanted to create a feature that is responsive to players [like her] where are they and provide adequate Pokémon Go game loop, no matter where you are in the world, at least 15 minutes a day. “
Daily Adventure Incense continues to align with Niantic’s mission of inspiring players to move, explore, and interact directly with others. The goal, says Steranka, is to help encourage people to get out every day, “get away from your computer, [and] Breath the clean air. “
“For me personally, I have had many days in the last two years where I went from bed to computer back to bed,” says Steranka, “and that was my life. This feature is a great daily reminder to break it down a bit, go for a walk around the neighborhood, catch some awesome Pokémon while you’re there, and you know, go on a daily adventure. a little. “
Even players who live in densely populated cities or towns where PokéStops, gyms, and bags of Pokémon are easily accessible will have a reason to use Daily Adventure Incense: Items that will attract players Pokémon may not be in the game’s current spawning pool. Only a subset of Pokémon occurs in the wild as part of Pokémon GoSpecial seasons and events, and the Daily Adventure Incense will draw from a large pool of other collectible monsters – including some rare species.

“There are hundreds of Pokemon that will appear in the process, so everyone’s adventure will be different,” says Steranka. “And we are really excited when people share with each other what you encounter throughout the day. We’ve packed a lot of surprises through this feature that we’re really excited for people to discover and share. “
Pokémon Go players will be able to share their Incense Daily Adventures with a new report card-like snapshot that can flag every Pokémon caught within a daily 15-minute window. It’s a chance not only to brag about your brand new Pokémon, but also a chance to let your friends know, “Hey, I’m off the couch today.”
