Police of St. Louis hunts for suspects in shooting, kidnapping

Police say suspect Eric Rogers is armed and very dangerous. Anyone with information should call 911 or CrimeStoppers at 866-371-TIPS.

ST. LOUIS – Police are hunting for a man suspected of kidnapping his ex-girlfriend Sunday after fatally shooting her and her mother at a gas station.

The suspect has been identified as 31-year-old Eric Rogers. Police warned him he was considered armed and very dangerous. Anyone with information should call 911 or CrimeStoppers at 866-371-TIPS (8477). He was last seen driving a missing Chrysler 200 with tinted windows and black rims.

Police said the incident happened around 10 a.m. when the mother and daughter, aged 39 and 20, were at the Mobil Gas Station on 3710 North Grand Blvd. in the Fairgrounds area.

The mother said she was pumping gas when she heard her daughter scream as she left the store. She said she then saw her daughter’s ex-boyfriend Rogers pull her shirt and throw her into his car.

The mother pulled her daughter out of the car and the two tried to run back to the store. That’s when Rogers pulled out a shotgun and shot them both, police said. The mother was shot in the leg and her daughter was grazed in the leg. Then he pulled his ex back into the car and drove away.

He then dropped her off at a house on Capitol Hill Drive and then left.

Both victims were treated at an area hospital. Police of St. Louis had no update on their condition on Monday morning but said their readings were stable.

This is an evolving story. It will be updated as more information becomes available.
