Poll: A year after the DLC, are you still playing Animal Crossing: New Horizons?

It’s been a year now since Happy Home Paradise DLC discounted for Pandemic Games 2020/21, Animal Crossing: New Horizons. If you go back through 365 days, you might remember that the DLC came out shortly after a pretty big 2.0 update to the base game, and while most of us think we’ve ripped every last drop from the game months after months of daily play, the extra content that comes with the 3DS’ sequel’ Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer has given island life some more fun as 2021 draws to a close.

While it doesn’t add every quality of life update fans are asking for, the update and DLC packs – accessible ‘free’ to anyone who has subscribed to Nintendo Switch Online at tier Expansion pack – serves as the right piece of software for a game that has held millions of our companies in a number of tries.

Despite the weeds and cockroaches invading some of our islands, there are members of the NL team who are still visiting Nook and co. weekday

However, with so many other games to play on Switch and elsewhere, it’s been a while since many of us visited our islands. Despite logging ‘295 hours or more’ in the base game, this writer has barely touched the DLC and hasn’t activated it this year – the last cloud save on the main menu says ‘June 23rd. 12 year 2021’. There’s so much more to play! The proposal to archive the game to free up memory space has been rejected several times, but the game has not been released for almost a year now.

However, a quick survey of Nintendo Life Towers shows that some of us to be still reappearing recently as “yesterday“,”Sunday“, and “a month ago maybe?“. So despite the weeds and cockroaches encroaching on some of our islands, there are members of the team who still regularly visit Nook and his colleagues.

To better understand how (currently) land lies with the broader sample size of Switch players, we thought we’d ask you questions in the poll below. This is by no means a quality review of the game (‘omg I can’t believe there’s nothing left to do in this game that I’ve spent 573 hours on!‘), rather we wanted to see how long this game’s tail would last with the die-hard Nintendo crowd – it’s you!

Please elaborate below on why you’re still playing or why you haven’t been back in a while.
