TORONTO – New poll shows 72% of working Canadians intend to stay in their current job next year, while younger employees are more likely to seek a change.
The latest poll from Nanos Research, commissioned by CTV News, asked more than 1,000 Canadians a variety of questions related to their job status.
15% of respondents who are employed expect to look for a new job in the next 12 months. For young Canadians, the rate is higher at 24%; for people 55 and older, only 2% want to convert.
Among those looking for a new job, 41% say they want better pay, while 28% no longer like their employer. Another 21% said they do not want to work in person in the workplace.
When broken down by region, 21.7% of Ontario respondents expect to try to change jobs, while 10.4% of Quebec respondents expect to work less by 2022. When it comes to overall job status during the pandemic, 6% of respondents were employed before the pandemic and are currently unemployed, 18% were not actively looking for work before the pandemic, and nothing has changed. change, and 57% were working before the pandemic and currently working.

RESEARCH METHODS
Nanos conducted an online randomization survey of hybrid RDD dual-frame phones (land and mobile) and random online survey of 1,010 Canadians, 18 years of age and older, over a period of time from 27 to 29 November 2021 as part of a bus survey.
