Poll: Which new Pokémon from the Scarlet & Violet trailer is your favorite?

We are sure that no one has ever asked you to compare an olive, a mouse and a pig before. Probably? Hope not. That’s what we want to do today.

With the latest Pokémon Scarlet & Violet trailer, we don’t just get November release datebut we can also see some ‘new wind man next door’ three beginner Pokémon! And, we’re introducing our Ash Ketchum to Game Freak and The Pokémon Company, because from what we’ve seen, the roster for Generation 9 is going to be an eclectic and pretty amazing bunch.

This new trailer gave us three new regular Pocket Monsters along with two starring legendaries. If you’re after the full stats and Pokédex-style recap, check out our ongoing list of all the new Pokémon we’ve seen in the game so far – here we are relying entirely on feeling and instinct.

So let’s get to know them again!

Pawmi

Well, this is what is most likely your ‘Pikachu clone’ in the generation. Every time we wonder if we need another Electric Mouse, one shows up and makes us go “awwwww!” Just look at it! Those warm little eyes shone with happiness. And we can’t resist the little fur on its head – we want to go in there and feather it a little!

If we will really fancy, something other than electric cheek bags can be a nice touch.

Lechonk

Ah, the star of social media. Lechonk might just have one of the best Pokémon names ever, and we couldn’t resist a good amusing pun here. We could continue about Lechonk here – sad eyes, brown marks on face, pink muzzle and toes, tiny tail.

Pig Pokémon have often struggled with their evolution lines over the years, so we hope Lechonk gets the perfect evolution it so desperately deserves, or else we never would. we.

Smoliv

Pokémon food can be a bit hit and miss, but Smoliv is definitely on the sweeter side. Its jagged mouth, empty eyes, and wobbly posture make it look very nervous – and we’ll do everything we can to protect it. Please don’t try and knock it over, whatever you do.

However, we want to see the little girl with a smile. Don’t tell us that’s their only expression, Game Freak, we’ll worry about him until we get the game! Even if they could go a week without eating, we would still be worried!

It’s been a pretty strong showing after our Grass/Fire/Water starters, who made their first impressions in February.

The Pokémon Company is being a bit more confusing about the details of Scarlet and Violet’s syllabus, but let’s go ahead and meet them, shall we?

Koraidon and Miraidon

Definitely two of the coolest legendary designs we’ve seen in a while, with quite a striking color palette. All we have to do is look and the first impression is quite dazzling.

Koraidon, left, has a rather prehistoric bird/lizard design. Is that a smug grin on its face, too? Well, with tufts of hair like that, we would probably feel rather complacent, too. The color mix is also very moderate – white and black on the body and tail, along with blue and pink on the feathers – because it breaks up the intensity of the red.

Miraidon isn’t much more natural – in a good way! Is it energy or electricity running through it? Its purple ‘skin’ looks like metal. Its floating. There’s a lot of unusual going on here that’s really interesting – like someone massaging Lunala with Zekrom and adding a few robotic parts. The pixelated eyes are just the icing on the cake, and we love the different shades of purple and the luminescent yellow patches on the body of the cake.

So, with all we know about these new Pokémon and a few days on our belts, we’ve all had some time to reflect, brood, obsess, and think about these new small (and large) creatures. Are Wooloo and Morpeko dethroned by Lechonk and Pawmi? Did Koraidon and Miraidon fight Zacian and Zamazenta? And – what we really want to know – who is your pick in the pack of the best Pokémon from Scarlet and Violet so far?

Vote in our polls below to let us know, then rate your picks in the comments! We know, it’s hard, but we count on you – you can choose!
