Porsche makes good driving roads easier to find
porsche overhauled the Roads app, which uses AI technology to help drivers find beautiful routes around the world.
The company has now opened the app to all users so that anyone can download and register for free to use the app.
Users can register with their Porsche ID or email address to access a library of beautiful routes from around the world.
The company says the app’s AI can determine the right route based on a variety of parameters, such as curves, terrain, landscape features, and “hot spots of interest.”
Drivers can use the app to find routes from A to B or take a complete loop based on location pins or searches, and further customize their search criteria by time period or direction.
If there are no pre-loaded routes in the attractive app, Roads offers users the ability to create a route and share it with others in the app.
Routes can also be displayed on your car’s infotainment screen via Apple CarPlay.
While the app is currently only available on the Apple App Store in Australia, Porsche has yet to confirm whether Android users will see the app in the future.
Since its launch, the app has had more than 180,000 registered users, and Porsche says it has been continuously working on its AI algorithm.
This application has a secondary purpose of creating a community similar to a social platform.
While users can’t communicate directly via instant messaging – only forum-style comments in the app – drivers can share their custom routes, create driving dates with fellow drivers as well as view routes created by others in the community.
