After a week of truly heartbreaking events, President Biden has passed a bit of good news regarding the recent infant formula shortages and the rising costs of inflation across the country. As both issues have remained the subject of interest throughout the past few weeks, many breathed a sigh of relief when President Biden released a positive social media update.
Posting to his Twitter account, President Biden announced the following news about the weeks-long baby formula shortage, as well as the latest figures on inflation:
“The drop in inflation this morning is a sign of progress. The report shows annualized inflation falling and core monthly average inflation at around 4% at an annual rate, down from around 6%. But there’s more work to be done, and addressing inflation is my top economic priority.
I have more good news: 27.5 million bottles of safe infant formula made by Bubs Australia are coming to the US. We are doing everything in our power to get more formula on the shelves as soon as possible. ”
Biden’s tweets came shortly after he vehemently protested to Congress over gun control legislation.
“Congress needs to pass universal background checks, ban assault weapons and high-volume magazines, and confirm Steve Dettelbach as head of the ATF. The time has come to turn this grief into action,” he said earlier this week while addressing the nation in the wake of the Uvalde mass shooting.
He added, “When, in the name of God, will we stand up in the gun corridor? When, in the name of God, will we do what we know in our guts to do? “
Congress is still hotly debating what the next steps will be on the updated gun control law, as public outcry grows louder by second.
