PSA: Azure Striker Gunvolt 3 has a data save error that corrupts when the switch is turned on
Inti Creates, the developer behind Azure Striker Gunvolt 3 – the long-awaited third main game in the series – has admitted that there is a corrupt save data in the Switch version of the game.
Sharing information on Twitter, errors can occur when you delete a saved file and then change the settings or language preferences on the title screen. This will then cause the most recently played save file to be corrupted. The problem only seems to occur since the game was updated to the version. 1.0.2.
Luckily, Inti Creates has confirmed that they are working on a patch to fix the issue. It also shares tips on how to avoid problems in the meantime.
We shared the statement below along with the original tweet:
Important information about Gunvolt 3 Save Bug
A bug has been discovered in the Nintendo Switch version of Azure Striker Gunvolt 3 that could potentially corrupt save data. Please go through the following information for methods to avoid this error. We apologize for this inconvenience.Details of the problem
The following issue exists in Azure Striker Gunvolt on Nintendo Switch as of version. 1.0.2.
Deleting the save file from the file selection screen and then changing the setting or language preference from the title screen will cause the last played save area to read incorrectly.
Starting the game from this slot, then encountering autosave or manual save will cause this save slot to fail. How to avoid
If you encounter a situation that may cause this issue before a new update is released, please close the app before the game can autosave (happens when changing settings). Restart the game to continue playing as usual.
If a save slot has been damaged, delete the save slot or copy the save data from an active slot to it to restore functionality in that save slot.
Update information and apologies
We sincerely apologize to all customers inconvenienced in this regard.
We are working on preparing a patch to fix the issue. We will announce the update distribution date as soon as possible. Until a patch is available, please use the above methods to avoid save errors.
Hopefully the patch will be ready for players soon so you don’t have to jump around and we’re glad Inti Creates was quick to acknowledge the issue. We will update you as soon as the bug is fixed.
