Some of us officially have a new favorite in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Since the Booster Course Pass starts with Wave 1, specifically a track – Ninja Hideaway, the final track in the Lucky Cat trophy – caught the attention of many with its branching roads, verticality, and great music. And think they’re hiding this from us in Visiting Mario Kart!
But it turns out, like a ninja lurking in the dark, there’s an unpleasant surprise waiting for the drivers. Youtube Channel The game is reinvented discovered a softlock of course – and no, it’s not a vanishing technique.
About a third of the way into the track, there’s a ramp that you can drive off, and across from it is a sign. If you land on this crest at the wrong angle or too far to the left, your character won’t be able to move or turn. You also can’t get away with this, which means you’ll either have to give up or wait for the race to end if that happens!
This is pretty easy to do at high speeds, or especially in 200cc mode, so – and this is not something we speak lightly or often with regards to Mario Kart – drive safely!
We’ll see if Nintendo fixes this at some point before Wave 2 launches, but for now, we’ll just make sure we avoid landing on that sign.
