Denver Broncos fullback Russell Wilson had one of his worst performances in recent memory in Thursday Night Football against the Indianapolis Colts. He completed just 21 of 39 pass attempts for 274 yards and hit two interceptions in the Broncos’ 12-9 loss to Matt Ryan and the Colts.
His erroneous pass was blocked by Stephon Gilmore late in the fourth quarter, with the Broncos leading three and in the redzone, and his erroneous pass in injury time to Courtland Sutton and KJ Hamler undetected. Open is two times that Wilson heavily criticized by fans and analysts.
Dan Orlovsky, a former NFL quarterback analyst, tweeted during the game that Russell Wilson may have been injured or not interested in playing and, as it turns out, he was on his field of view.
Russell Wilson injury: QB played injured
On Saturday, ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter revealed that Wilson is playing with a partial tear near his right shoulder.
According to Schefter, Wilson was injured in the first inning of the Broncos’ 32-23 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday. The midfielder got an injection before the Colts game to keep fighting and help his team win. A tear near his shoulder explains Wilson’s poor outing. After the game, the midfielder mentioned the injury but took responsibility for the loss:
“You have to look at this, I have to look at this and see where I can improve. I fought, obviously, just the shoulder. [injury] and all that and just trying to play fast. We should have won that game. [We] so won it. Like I said, it’s me. ”
Russell Wilson will not have surgery and will be available to play the Broncos Week 6 game against the Los Angeles Chargers on Monday Night Football. 2-3 Broncos will have to come up with a new formula based on this development because Russ definitely can’t cook with a serious injury.
