Quebec reports 1,753 new COVID-19 cases, one more death – Montreal

Quebec reported 1,753 new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday and one new death linked to the virus.

Health officials said the number of COVID-19-related hospitalizations rose 11 from the previous day to 262, while the number of patients in intensive care increased by five to 68.

The seven-day average for new cases is 1,621.

Of the new infections, 876 include people who have not been vaccinated or who received their first dose within the past two weeks.

Officials say about 87% of Quebe Cancers age 5 and older have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, while 81% have had two.

It also said 5% of Quebe Cancer people had received a third, booster dose.
