Ken Block, a racer known for his high partnerships with the likes of Ford and Audi, was killed in a sleigh crash at the age of 55.
The news was made official on its own rough The Instagram page said, “We are deeply saddened to be able to confirm that Ken Block has passed away…”
“Ken is a visionary, a pioneer and an icon. And most importantly, a father and husband.”
Mr. Block was at his Utah ranch for Christmas, according to a Tweet from December 30.
Mr. Block had an eventful life, co-founding the DC shoe brand in 1994 and selling the company a decade later.
He won Rookie of the Year in the 2005 Rally America Championship and forged a partnership with Subaru Rally Team USA.
He’s also teamed up with Ford and, more recently, Audi, and released a viral Gymkhana video series. More recently (May 2022), his company detailed the Porsche 911 SVRSR”hoonipigasus“.
