Racine Zoo offers popular snowball picnic spot

RACINE, Wis. (CBS 58) – Families looking for some winter fun can now enjoy a snowball picnic at Racine Zoo.

The show is back for a third year with four ‘globs’ available to groups to rent in 90-minute sessions. A session includes food, drinks, games and even a personal experience with one of the animals at the zoo.

“It was a really, really great experience,” said Chelsea Locke, special events manager at Racine Zoo. “When guests arrive, they are greeted with our wonderful animal ambassadors so they can learn about the different animals we have at the zoo. They also receive zoo admission tickets. that day or come back another day.”

Locke says the experience gives families a chance to beat the cold while also allowing everyone a chance to get out of the house and do something fun.

Preventive measures of Covid-19 are in place. According to Locke, masks are required when the animals are on the planet and then optional after the animals leave. Each globe is sanitized after each visit.

“Our goal is to make sure that our guests have a safe and healthy environment to get out in,” says Locke. “We wanted to make sure they could still go out and enjoy family time in a safe environment, and we really wanted to spread the word about how great our zoo is.”

Picnics are available between now and March. To make a reservation, visit Zoo website here.
