Many residents immediately shared photos and videos on social media as the rains hit the dry and dusty roads.

The maximum temperature at Safdarjung Observatory, Delhi’s base station, is likely to stabilize around 38 degrees Celsius.
The minimum temperature recorded was 28.8 degrees Celsius, four degrees above normal for this time of year.
Due to a westerly turbulence affecting northwest India, cloudy skies are forecast to cover the capital for the next three days, the IMD said.
Mercury will rise by 4 to 5 tracks over the next 6 days. However, no heat wave is predicted in advance.
