Ram 1500 Classic loses the usual taxi short box configuration

Mopar Insiders had a look at Ram’s fleet information for the upcoming model year and discovered one shortcoming: There was no conventional cabin with a six-foot four-inch short box for 2023. The fifth-generation pickup never delivered. that configuration, but Ram has maintained the Classic fourth-generation Ram as a dwarf for the past four model years and so far on entry-level Tradesman and Show decorations. According to the paperwork, the regular cab with an 8-foot box will be available for next year. If this happens in 2023, it would raise the price of a two-wheel drive Ram Classic Tradesman to $300, from $32,130 after fees to $1,895 to $32,430. The Express MSRP spiked by a really large amount, because the option above the regular cab short box was the Quad Cab short box. Express starts at $33,630 to $40,990.

Trimming the model will also leave Ford and Chevrolet is the only pickup truck manufacturer in this market that sells full-size vehicles truck with two doors, a row of chairs and a small bed. Ford offers that setting on F-150 in XL and XLT form, Chevy do so only with the Working Truck.

However, unlike the other manufacturers, Ram has kept an Easter egg in some Classic 1500 build. There are 13 low volume color available for $450 each, compared to an additional $100 or $200 fee for standard monochromatic exterior colors. Anyone who wants a thirty car in colors like Light Blue (pictured), National Safety Yellow, School Bus Yellow or Republic Green should join. MIND says Ram will begin production of the 2023 1500 Classic on January 3, 2023.
