Last month, Super Smash Bros. director Masahiro Sakurai has launched his own YouTube channel about creating games in English and Japanese.
Fans flocked to both channels and they quickly skyrocketed in subscribers. Now, just a few weeks later, he’s showing off the silver Play Button he received from YouTube for surpassing 100,000 subscribers. He also took this opportunity to once again thank the fans for their support. Here is his message using Google Translate:

His English channel currently has more than 440,000 subscribers. Combined, his Japanese and English channel surpassed 800,000 subscribers. The next Play button is the Gold button, which needs a million subscribers.
Sakurai currently has over 10 videos on his channel, with his latest focusing on the ability to copy in Kirby’s Adventures. Every video Sakurai uploads is shared on both channels in Japanese and English.
And although he has gained a lot of interest, Sakurai has said several times that he is not interested in income from both channels. He just wants to contribute to the game industry and also help aspiring game developers around the globe.
