There’s an assortment of collectibles that is classy enough that your parents and non-gaming friends might not even notice that it’s a video game thing. At one end of the “nerd-to-chic” spectrum, you’ve got Master Chief Funko Pops and your hardcovers of Mario; on the other hand, you’ve got classical orchestral covers of the Final Fantasy soundtrack and…this.
Adam, AKA North of the border on YouTube, describing himself as someone who likes to “do nerd little things” and using a few inspirations, he decided to make a plastic and clay model of Hokusai Big waves off KanagawaAKA “it’s a picture that people really, really like”.
But we wouldn’t be writing about it without some video game twists on it, and that shift is combining the Great Wave with The Legend of Zelda: The Wind WakerPlace the Red Lion King in the place of one of the boats in the picture.
As we said, we’re pretty sure this is the kind of piece of art you can display in your home without your parents complaining about your “crap computer games” every time they visit. Sure, it would be nicer if they accepted your preferences, but we can’t have everything.
However, Adam also realistic Wario and Waluigi modelsthat we do Not think your parents will approve…but maybe for different reasons.
