Random: The world’s biggest DS just got a 3D upgrade
You may remember last July, designer and all-around tech wizard BigRig created managed to build the world’s largest working DS using a McDonald’s TV and trackpad. Well, just as the DS gradually evolved into the 3DS, BigRig managed to give its piece an additional dimension upgrade.
That’s right, the world’s largest DS has now become the world’s largest 3DS.
There were certain additions required to BigRig from his initial build, namely making the giant device run the game in 3D. With a 3D TV and a unique shelving system that includes a variety of household items, this seems to have quickly dropped off the list.
But what about the other notable features of the 3DS? This wouldn’t be an accurate build without the giant Circle Pad and central home button, would it? Don’t worry, the upgrade also incorporates these elements. The Circle Pad was particularly impressive to us, using an old Android phone and a bunch of rubber bands to get the damn thing back in place like it was on Nintendo’s innovative little console.
Furthermore, this thing actually plays 3DS games. In the tweet above, you can feel the giant device running mario kart 7, Ocarina of Time 3D And Pokémon Xbut we recommend you watch the full video at the top of this article for a detailed look at how the build plays many other titles.
Yes, it might take away some of the portability of the 3DS, but we’d love to play this XXXL model the same.
