Ranking update after Dubai Capitals vs Abu Dhabi Knight Riders Match

The capital Dubai on Friday, January 13, defeated the Abu Dhabi Knightsman with 73 runs in Match 1 of the International Tournament (ILT20) 2023 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. With the win, Capitals leads the scoreboard with a net run rate of 3.65.

In the meantime, the Knights have a lot of work to do in their upcoming ILT20 matches. Not only did they need to open an account, but they also had to improve their net run rate, which is currently at -3.65.

Capital defeats Knight Riders in ILT20 Prologue

After being hit first, Capitals scored a decent score of 187/6 across the board. Robin Uthappa and Joe Root laid the groundwork with a 35-run rack for the opening racquet. After 12 rounds, the Capitals had a bit of a difficult time with their score of 84 treble.

Even with Root scoring 26 points with two fourths and as many sixs, Uthappa raced with a 33-ball hit of 43 with three fourths and two sixths. Bhanuka Rajapaksa flattering to deceive, but captain Rovman Powell put his longhand to good use and scored 48 of 29 with three innings and many sixths.

Sikandar Raza, who recently played for the Rangpur Riders in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), hit a four and two six in his 17-26 ball. Finally, Ravi Bopara and Isuru Udana played helpful cameos to boost their team’s score past the 180-run mark.

Knight Riders got off to a bad start as Colin Ingram didn’t bother the scorers much. Soon, Brandon King also disappeared into smoke. Zawar Farid also felt tough before Powell inflicted a false hit from him. Meanwhile, Paul Stirling brought in 36 balls in his half-century.

However, he could not continue and was disqualified after scoring 54 of 38 with five fourth and two sixth innings. The Knights lost half of their faction after Raza sent back Narine, who tried to get into the city center. When Russell was out, the writing on the wall was for the Knights of the first ILT20 match.
