RCMP investigating fatal crash in Fraser Canyon after motorcycle hits spilled debris
Police in BC are asking for help from the public after a fatal motorcycle accident inside Fraser . Gorge earlier this week.
According to police, a tractor unit traveling north along Trans-Canada on Monday night lost part of its load while navigating a corner between Yale and Boston Bar. A motorcycle heading south, along with two people from the Lower Mainland, collided with debris.
The accident happened about 20 minutes before midnight, south of the Sailor Bar Tunnel.
Police said employees from Hope and Boston Bar responded, as did the Yale Fire Department and BC Ambulance.
Tragically, the motorcyclist died at the scene and the passenger was transported to hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries, the RCMP said.
Police said the motorcyclist was 64 years old.

“On behalf of Hope and the Boston Bar RCMP, I extend my deepest condolences to the family of the deceased man. This is truly a tragic collision and our thoughts are with the victim’s family,” the Sgt employee said. Dwayne Farlin.
The highway was closed for several hours while police investigated. Both vehicles were seized for mechanical inspection.
