RCMP say 1 dead, 4 injured after SUV and pickup truck collided in southern Alberta on Saturday
One man died and four others were injured in a collision between an SUV and a pickup truck in southern Alberta on Saturday.
Vulcan RCMP said its officers along with firefighters attended the two-vehicle collision that occurred at the intersection of Highway 23 and Highway 529 at around 5:25 p.m. on July 16.
RCMP said a pickup truck was traveling south on National Highway 23 when it was hit by an SUV traveling westward traveling on Highway 529.
A 55-year-old man, the only occupant of the truck, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officials said the 34-year-old driver of the SUV, along with two young children in the back seat, were taken to a hospital in Calgary.
The third passenger, a 33-year-old woman, was airlifted by STARS to the hospital. Police said her condition was not known Monday night.
The crash left a road closed for several hours while RCMP crash crews were on the scene.
