Google’s HR Manager Fiona Cicconi sent an employee-wide email to employees to notify them about Googlereaction to the recent ruling of United States Supreme Court That reversed the right to legal abortion established by Roe vs Wade in 1973. The email read, “This is a profound change for the country that has profoundly affected so many of us. me, especially women.” It also tells employees that they can “apply for relocation without justification”. This is the email that appeared on The Verge website.

This morning, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization that goes back to Roe v. Wade.
This is a profound change for the country, profoundly affecting so many of us, especially women. Everyone will respond in their own way, whether it’s wanting space and time to process, speaking up, volunteering outside of work, not wanting to discuss it, or something else entirely. Be aware of how your co-workers may be feeling and, as always, treat each other with respect.
Equity is particularly important to us as a company, and we share concerns about the impact this ruling will have on people’s health, lives and careers. We will continue to work to make reproductive health information available on our products and continue to work to protect user privacy.
