Rechargeable models make up the majority of Volvo Australia orders
Volvo Cars is an electrically charged repulsion. It wants 50% of global sales to be plug-in hybrids or electric vehicles by 2025, and plans to go all-electric by 2030.
Volvo Car Australia also want to reach the second goal sooner. According to a Volvo Car Australia spokesperson, the firm’s bank of orders as of April 30 consisted of 60% of Recharge hybrid and electric vehicle models.
10% of Volvo’s sales are Recharge models so far in 2022, and 21% April sales are calculated using the Recharge Plug-in Hybrid and Pure Electric variants.
Registered Volvo Car 3477 vehicles in 2022 so far, marking a up 1.9% same period in 2021.
Volvo Cars Global recently released its sales figures for April 2022, in which sales of electronics from its rechargeable product line increased by 38.4% (18,097 out of 47,150 sales), an increase 18.7% over the same month in 2021.
It seems logical Volvo will hit 50% of Recharge sales by the self-imposed deadline in 2025, based on current trends.
Until the end of 2022, the Chinese-owned Swedish brand is planning to launch several new or updated Recharge models in Australia.
Upgraded Rechargeable XC60 and Rechargeable XC90, both plug-in hybrids (PHEVs), are “coming soon” with more power and larger battery packs (18.8kWh v 11.6kWh), more than double the claimed EV range up up to 90 km. Read more this.
