Regina King’s son, Ian Alexander Jr., died on Friday at the age of 26, The Hollywood Reporter confirmed.

“Our family is devastated to the deepest extent by the loss of Ian,” King said in a statement obtained by CHEAP. “He is such a bright light who cares so much about the happiness of others. Our family respectfully considers during this private time. Thank you.”

Cause of death was not provided, but according to Everyone, Ian died by suicide.
