Regional carrier SkyWest cancels 700 U.S. flights over technical woes

WASHINGTON — U.S. regional air provider SkyWest Airways canceled about 700 flights due to an inside laptop subject that crippled operations for 5 hours earlier than it was resolved, the airline mentioned on Thursday.

SkyWest supplies regional service for key operators akin to American Airways, United Airways, Alaska Airways and Delta Air Traces.

A spokeswoman for SkyWest mentioned the schedule modifications included flight “cancellations into tomorrow morning, as we work to get crews and plane into place.”

SkyWest added it was working “to return to regular operations as rapidly as attainable.”

SkyWest confirmed the issue was a “server subject” that affected operations for about 5 hours.

Earlier, United Airways mentioned on its web site that SkyWest was “experiencing a server outage that has impacted a number of airways.”

Aviation web site FlightAware confirmed SkyWest flights starting to renew late on Thursday.
