AEW added another respected star to its roster this week, as former WWE employee Renee Paquette debuted on Dynamite after signing with the company.
Paquette worked in a number of behind-the-scenes positions for WWE while under the name Renee Young. She started out as a behind-the-scenes announcer before moving on to work ORIGINAL commentator and act as presenter WWE Backstage on FS1.
Moreover, a recent report from Meltzer claims that she has also been contacted with the Stamford-based company. However, she apparently turned down the offer.
Also, according to reports, Renee Paquette was suspected of being on her way to AEW. Given that her husband, Jon Moxley, is affiliated with the organization and has a long-term contract, which would make sense. Her skills with microphones are well established and will be an asset to Tony Khanpromotion’s.
This week on Dynamite, Renee Paquette returns to her hometown to kick off Dynamite’s first show in Canada. Her first interaction was interviewing Christian Cage at the start of the ramp and the start of the opening match between Luchasaurus and Jungle Boy.
She was also part of a behind-the-scenes segment involving Ethan Page, Matt Hardy, and others.
It remains to be seen how she will fit into the AEW scene in the coming weeks.
