Reporter points out instability between Mac Jones, Patriots
Bailey Zappe has played well in his opening two games with the New England Patriots this season, which has led to some speculation that the rookie could replace Mac Jones even after Jones has fully recovered from an ankle injury. That compelling story seems to be taking on a life of its own.
Boston Globe’s Ben Volin discussed the so-called New England full-back controversy during an appearance Wednesday morning on WEEI’s “The Greg Hill Show.”
The longtime reporter shared a piece of information he knew would make headlines. Volin said he was told by “someone might know” that Jones had “attitude problems.” He also pointed out that Patriots offensive assistant Joe Judge has said he prefers Zappe to Jones.
“Someone reached out in my DM and said, ‘Mac, yes, his attitude problem is evident in the building and everyone knows it,’” Volin said. “Take it for what it’s worth.”
Volin said this information was not shared by one person including patriots. He also said that we wouldn’t classify it as a report, but he seemed pretty confident in the source. You can hear more of his comments below:
