‘RHOSLC’ star Jen Shah sentenced to 6.5 years in federal prison
It’s official: Jen Shah’s The True Housewives of Salt Lake City received a 78-month prison sentence in his famous wire fraud case.
The news came Friday in a New York City courthouse, as indicated by live reporting provided by NBC News. In addition to the 6.5-year prison sentence, Jen will have to complete 5 years of supervised release.

While speaking in court, Jen’s defense attorney spoke about the events leading up to this point.
Like RHOSLC As fans will know, Jen has firmly asserted her innocence in the series, with her season 2 tagline being, “The only thing I’m guilty of is being mesmerized by the Shah.” Jen also adamantly denied the speculation that she had defrauded the elders by saying, “I am innocent!”

She held this stance until pleading guilty to fraud in July, after which Bravo began to distance herself from Shah.
Regarding her initial claims of innocence, attorney Priya Chaudhry explained that Jen “was missing for months in a room echoing her own denial.” However, the lawyer said Jen is now ready to “pay back the debt to society”.
“Every day since she confessed, she reads her name and begs for forgiveness but she can’t forgive herself. She understands that she cannot undo these and the things she has done to their family but she admits today is for justice.”
As for the prosecution, attorney Robert Sobelman held Jen in the fire and explained that she “worked hard to make a lot of money for herself at the expense of vulnerable people.”
Sobelman also doubled down on the 10-year sentence, saying, “We think a 120-month sentence is appropriate.” Meanwhile, Jen’s attorney asked for a three-year sentence.

In the end, Judge Sidney Stein sentenced Jen to 6.5 years and admitted that innocent people had suffered “financial and emotional devastation” at the hands of Bravolebrity.
“I don’t know if she appreciates the harm she has caused. I hope she has, I’ve heard those words. Those people have no way of being full again… If they had money, they wouldn’t have feelings.”
Stein also wishes Jen all the best as she prepares to serve her sentence.
“I wish you good luck. I know you can leave this behind and when you’re out you can rebuild your life.”
Shah was then able to speak, and she reflected on her family’s upbringing, which focused on “mutual respect, duty, humility and generosity, loyalty and respect.” .”
“I have to accept that I went against these core values and I am deeply sorry for what I did.”
Notably, Jen promised to “pay full compensation to all victims”.
“I would like to apologize to all the victims and their families, and at the same time I take full responsibility for the harm I have caused and will fully compensate all victims. I realize that some of you have lost hundreds and others have lost thousands and I promise to pay it back.”
Shah did not make any further statements following sentencing and she was due to surrender on February 17. Although she requested to be sent to a facility in Texas, it is currently unknown Jen. where exactly will be sentenced.
