Under Puerto Rican law, if Ricky Martin is proven guilty, he could be sentenced to up to 50 years in prison. The case will begin on July 21.

Earlier this month, shortly after the news of the ban broke, Ricky Martin took to social media to declare his innocence, saying he could not go into details due to the open investigation.

“The order of protection brought against me is based on completely false allegations, so I will respond through the due process with my signature truth and dignity. Because this is an ongoing legal matter, I cannot elaborate at this time. I am grateful for the countless messages of solidarity, and I accept them with all my heart,” Martin wrote on Twitter at the time.

So far, Ricky Martin has not publicly responded to his relationship with his nephew.
