Puerto Rican superstar Ricky Martin on Wednesday filed a lawsuit against his grandson alleging extortion, malicious mistreatment, abuse of the law and damages stemming from false allegations of sexual abuse sex.

Martin’s attorneys say the lawsuit by his nephew, whom he has since engaged in racist behavior against, cost the singer millions of dollars in lost income.

The lawsuit filed in the U.S. Territorial Court of First Instance alleges that Martin was “persecuted, surrounded, harassed, stalked and blackmailed” by his “troublesome” nephew for business reasons. economic. It further alleges that if the grandson does not reap any financial benefits, he will continue to “assassin the artist’s reputation and integrity.”

The lawsuit alleges that the harassment continued even though Martin’s nephew, identified as Dennis Yadiel Sanchez Martin, swore in July that he had never been sexually assaulted by the artist.

Sanchez had previously taken legal action against his uncle based on those false accusations, prompting a judge in Puerto Rico to issue an injunction against Martin in July and the court subsequently suspended it. .

Those allegations cost Martin at least $10 million in lost income as a result of canceled contracts and projects as well as $20 million in damage to his reputation, according to the lawsuit. .

The attorney representing Sanchez in that case could not be immediately reached for comment. It is unclear whether she will represent Sanchez in the lawsuit filed Wednesday.

The lawsuit claims that from October 2021 to January 2022, Sanchez will send up to 10 texts a day to Martin, the majority of which are “meaningless messages without any particular purpose.” any.”

It also alleges Sanchez published Martin’s private number on Instagram, which forced the singer to change his number.

A few months later, Sanchez didn’t send a single text until he requested a protective order in July against Martin, according to the lawsuit.

It also states that Sanchez perjured that he had been in a romantic relationship with Martin for seven months and that Martin reportedly did not want the relationship to end and repeatedly phoned Sanchez with frequency.

“Nothing further from the truth,” according to the lawsuit.

It also said two previous restraining orders had been filed against Sanchez in an unrelated stalking case.
