Rihanna may bow after being named Barbados’ National Hero

The 33-year-old multi-faceted singer was bestowed the honor of being Barbados’ National Hero on Monday, November 29, adding yet another honor to her already incredible heavy summary. In a ceremony organized by the Prime Minister of Barbados Mia MottleyRihanna was officially honored wearing an orange silk dress by Bottega Veneta, teamed with lace-up heels.
The event marked the country’s separation from Great Britain to become its own republic, taking place in the singer’s hometown of Bridgetown.
“On behalf of a grateful nation, but an even more proud one,” Prime Minister Mottley told the singer at the ceremony, “We therefore present to you, the appointee, the hero people of Barbados, Ambassador Robyn Rihanna Fenty.”
Referring to her chart-topping hit, “Diamonds,” Mottley continued, “May you continue to shine like a diamond and continue to bring honor to your nation with your words, your actions and give credit wherever you go.”
