A child is in critical condition following a possible lightning strike at the boat ramp of Williams Park in Riverview on Thursday afternoon, according to Hillsborough County Fire Rescue.
It happened just after 4pm. The child was taken to a local trauma center, HCFR said.
ABC Action News Meteorologist Denis Philips said a lightning detection network showed no rain at the ramp at the time of the strike. Philips said it was still raining for 5 to 10 minutes.
