Rivian and Mercedes-Benz have spooky tech features for Halloween
It’s Halloween time, and several automakers are entering the season with holiday-themed features. Rivian and Mercedes-Benz have shown off their Halloween spirit so far, but we know less in the comments if you see anything spooky pop up on your car.
Rivian’s Halloween accessory pack is easily the best and most complete. If you haven’t already done so with your Rivian, online social media posts indicates that a message appears on the screen allowing you to activate the Halloween Theme and “make it spooky.”
Rivian is interesting.

The announcement reads: “Some sounds, lights and visuals will become ‘spooky’ during Halloween season. Make sure that Interactive Lights and Spotlights are turned on for the full experience. “

The sounds, as many have shown on social media, change the car unlock/lock noise. Instead of a bird chirping when locked, Rivian let out a squeaky owl. Then when you unlock truck, you get a werewolf howl. As for the lights, the white interior ambient light turns a ghostly orange color. Previously, you couldn’t change the color of ambient light in Rivians, but this shows that lighting can indeed be changed.
The last notable change in the Halloween Theme is in the Rivian driver assist visualizer. Instead of walking people appearing as people in the visualizer, they are glowing zombies. Succinct!
For Mercedes characteristics, MBUX has acquired some spooky graphics. You will notice that on the main menu screen there is a spooky pumpkin and a bunch of colorful fallen leaves as decorations. Australian Publications, drive.com/au also note that the profile selection screen has new graphics, including witches, demons, vampires and zombies to choose from. To enable these Halloween gifts, you need to make sure “Graphic Gifts” is turned on in the settings menu displayed.
