It was the policies of the Democrats that made a conspiracy-minded suspect of the Republican Party attack The Republican Chairman is the husband of the Democratic Chairman in the search for a President for himself, according to the Republican chairwoman.
Fox News Sunday Host Shannon Bream asked Ronna McDaniel to meet one Washington Post story detailed the GOP’s decades-long efforts to “devilize” Nancy Pelosiasked McDaniel to make the allegation that “increasingly violent and threatening rhetoric against their political opponents” had led to attack.
McDaniel, in particular, blames Democrats and a lack of repudiation on those who want violence against Republicans.
“You can’t say people who say ‘Fire Pelosi,’ or ‘Take back the house,’ say ‘Let’s do violence.’ It’s just not fair. I think we all need to realize that violence is happening on a large scale,” she said. “But I think the other thing to remember is, if this isn’t Paul Pelosi, this criminal could be out on the streets tomorrow. We saw attacker Lee Zeldin on the street shortly after he attacked him. This is what the policies of the Democratic Party are delivering.”
While McDaniel references parts of parcel story, she omits mentions of other aspects of the story, including how the GOP’s portrayal of Nancy Pelosi alludes to violence against her and how anti-Pelosy memes on the far-right range often include threats threaten violence.
The story also notes that, of the issues covered in the 2022 candidates’ ad campaigns, Pelosi is fifth with nearly $40 million spent on ads featuring her. She ranks below taxes, President Joe Biden and inflation, but she ranks above immigration, a once traditional GOP view.
However, McDaniel still has some thoughts for the House speaker’s husband.
“But of course we hope Paul Pelosi recovers,” she said. “We don’t like this one bit across the board.”
