NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) – Many roads in Nashville remained dangerous on Friday as residents dealt with the bitter cold.
Nashville Department of Transportation employees continue to clear roads throughout Davidson County. They are plowing and salting the side roads and will continue that process throughout the day. Once again, the mayor and many city officials asked residents to avoid driving and stay home.

However, services were affected and many parts of Metro had to close or work remotely.
No roads were closed in Nashville as of Friday afternoon. However, emergency officials said there were “slippery spots” and nearby roads “frozen/snowy, very difficult to navigate.” Drivers are advised to use “extreme caution” and stay home if possible.
After the snow moved through Nashville on Thursday, some drivers abandoned their vehicles on treacherous roads throughout Midstate. Now, as freezing temperatures remain on Friday, many cars are still abandoned.
