Rodgers says he spoke to officials about Bucs .’s game delay penalty

Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers narrowly won Sunday’s defeat to Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Packers almost took a double-digit lead in the second half but kept it 14-12 won thanks to a crucial Buccaneers mistake late in the fourth quarter.

Tampa Bay just climbed within two converting points to end the game with 14 seconds left after a one-yard pass from Brady to Russell Gage. In the two-point attempt, however, Tampa Bay conceded a penalty that delayed the game, deflecting their attempt to return.

After the game, Rodgers commented on the Buccaneers’ error, even hinting that he spoke to officials before the game-changing penalty.

“They should have played last time as well, it was a delay in both plays,” Rodgers said. “Sometimes you see things in a game. Sometimes the jumbotron shows things that they probably shouldn’t show, even at home. I just saw something, I’m just transmitting information.”

Reporters asked head coach Matt LaFleur what Rodgers saw in the jumbotron, but he also appeared normal.

“We’re talking about a number of things,” LaFleur said. “I won’t share that.”

Rodgers also played his part on the field Sunday, finishing 27/35 for 255 yards, with two touchdowns and one interception.

The win puts Rodgers and the Packers 2-1 up for the season. They will win their third straight game next week when they return home to take on Brady’s old team, the New England Patriots.
