Rodolfo Castro suspended, fined for playing with phone in his pocket
A week ago, Pittsburgh Pirates quarterback Rodolfo Castro delivered one of the most unique opening games in recent MLB history when his iPhone fell out of his back pocket when he slipped into third base in a game against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
It was reported last Wednesday that the league had “look at“incident, like The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal explains that – intentionally or not – leaving his phone on him is technically a violation of MLB’s rule that prohibits “electronic devices on the field or in the dugout.”
On Tuesday afternoon, the punishment was revealed.
