India captain Rohit Sharma congratulated Ishan Kishan for becoming the fourth Indian to achieve a double hundred ODI. Kishan follows in the footsteps of Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag and Rohit himself.
Young Southpaw scored 210 takes of just 131 balls against Bangladesh on Saturday, December 10. He also broke the record for the fastest 200 points in ODI history in the process.
Rohit himself had three hundred doubles in his name in the ODI, including an all-time high score (264). He knows exactly what it feels like to hit a milestone.
The Indian captain recently posted a photo of Kishan celebrating his double and left a witty caption that read:
“Yeh club ka mazza alag hai (Being part of this club is another joy), @ishankishan23”
The young man obliged and responded with an equally witty comment. He wrote:
“Maza hi maza hai (This is unlimited fun)”

Ishan kishan have been on the edge of the Indian ODI group for quite some time now.
He made his ODI debut against Sri Lanka last year and has been playing for the second tier team ever since. The 24-year-old scored an impressive goal in the first half of a century of this year on a tour of Zimbabwe and also scored an impressive 93rd against South Africa at home.

Southpaw probably knew he wouldn’t have much of a chance ahead of the ODI World Cup and counted this chance at double a hundred. This can put the cat among the pigeons as far as other openers like Shubman Gill and Shikhar Dhawan related.

Kishan made it nearly impossible for the selectors and team management to ignore his performance. It will be interesting to see how this bump changes the landscape of India’s top order decisions for next year’s ODI World Cup.
