Rollerdrome trailer reveals rollerblading game by makers of OlliOlli
Rollerdrome, a new high-flying rollerblading derby game with magnetic guns Roll7 and Private Boardwas announced in Sony’s Play Status on Thursday. The single-player third-person shooter is scheduled to be released on August 16 on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Windows PC.
The game takes place in 2030, where a form of deadly roller derby is the sport of choice for viewers. In what the developers describe as a “bad sight,” players perform eye-catching tricks and shoot other opponents to gain the highest score possible.
The game follows the story of newcomer Kara Hassan, who is in the process of climbing the ranks of the sport. Over time, Kara begins to unravel the mysteries of a giant tech company operating behind the scenes of this terrible sport.
The game appears to be heavily platforming, with the trailer showing various high-flying antics as well as opponents gliding and jumping off walls. Rollerdrome Sports style shaded graphics reminds us a lot of images from adventure games Black.
The game is being developed by Roll7 and Private Division, developer and publisher of the colorful action-platformer and skateboarding game. OlliOlli’s World. It’s a 2.5D game in Roll7’s OlliOlli series in which you can skate in various environments that look inspired by California. Rollerdrome set a more puzzling tone to the studio’s work.
