Rolls royce car sent it ghost begins school completion in 2023. What returns is the Series II, which Rolls billed as a “refined” evolution of the iconic ultra-luxury sedan. To mark the occasion, the company introduced a one-time model called the Platino (meaning “platinum”), as shown below.
“The subtle changes we make to the new Phantom Series II have been carefully thought out and meticulously executed. As Sir Henry Royce himself put it: ‘Small things make perfect, but it’s the little things that make perfect. Perfection is no small thing’,” said Rolls-Royce CEO Torsten Müller-Ötvös in the company’s official announcement.
The Phantom Series II has received what Rolls-Royce describes as a “light touch” aesthetic update. The grille is just a more vertical touch and is now illuminated (a hint borrowed from Ghost) and the headlights now feature a laser-cut pattern designed to mimic Rolls-Royce’s signature “Starlight” headlights in the Phantom’s interior. Two new wheel options have been added. The first is a 3D milled stainless wheel with triangular faces; the second is a 1920s style disc that is available in stainless or lacquered black.
Inside, nothing has really changed, but you can hardly tell one way or the other as no two Phantoms are truly alike unless they are deliberately ordered to do so. Rolls-Royce says the steering wheel is the only interior upgrade to note; it is made a little thicker. The infotainment system has also been updated to incorporate Rolls-Royce Connected, which can talk to the firm’s digital concierge smartphone app, Whisper. That allows owners to track Phantom’s vital stats, send destinations to the navigation system, or schedule service.
The Phantom Platino (the white one above) is a perfect illustration of what we said above that no two Phantoms look alike. Rolls-Royce’s Bespoke personalization program is quite busy 24/7 to bring together one-of-a-kind creations for its affluent customers. Platino’s fabric rear seats are a highlight of Rolls-Royce’s early days, when the front seats were covered in leather but the rear was covered in fabric.
