Rounding Up: Here’s What Online Switch Players Think Of GoldenEye 007 So Far
above Nintendo Switch sub-channel There’s also been some chatter about the control setup, but others are happy to see the iconic shooter’s return:
BBQQA – “I’m still flabbergasted that this happened. For YEARS, my friends and I would complain that we would never see this with a modern release, that it would be stuck. stuck in IPR Hell. But somehow it happened. I don’t’ I don’t think the younger generation really understood the impact of this game or that it couldn’t happen on Switch and How’s the Xbox. It’s crazy.”
Odie_Odie – “I still play Goldeneye on my N64 every year, played a few hours over the weekend before putting my system away again and I have to say, Controllers aren’t that bad. It’s very similar to the original. original. I think a lot of people realize that they don’t like Goldeneye because of the controls. They’re always there, lol.”
MillwrightWF – “…Just a bigger millennial disclaimer here so 007 is an important part of growing up. First of all, I let my son be obsessed with My Fortnite plays and after it completely destroys me in Fortnite, this is more of my style. It builds buildings and other things so that’s where he took me Haha no buildings. in this game my son and I took him out a few times but once he was done with the controls he wanted to keep playing it looked pretty good not the mess I was hoping for wait. Not slower than the original. Looking forward to more time tomorrow.”
And this is what the community on our sister site Pure Xbox said about the Xbox version of the game:
Gamecuber – “as a veteran of the original game from back in the day, this version plays better than ever. The modern control scheme on Xbox pulls it into the present. I briefly tried the session. Switch version with the original control layout and it will clearly benefit from the actual N64 controller. The Xbox version played brilliantly with two thumbsticks.”
Bucky – “Played through the campaign on Agent difficulty on Switch last night and this morning. Just tried a few levels on Xbox and found it to play better on Switch, although it needs a bit of button remapping”
RoadSkullM – “I love this movie but there’s no denying the strong nostalgia (and force) element in this movie. Still interesting after all these years.”
Techno92LFC – “Undoubtedly, I, along with others, love to see the Xbox Live Arcade version so I don’t understand why we don’t have it. Maybe someone here knows? However, It’s great to see that we don’t have it. see this on Xbox consoles and with updated controls.”
