Rumors about Toyota Supra manual heat up in new report from Japan

Rumors about the guidebook Toyota Supra is swirling again thanks to a report from Japan suggests that production of a 3.0-liter inline-six model with six speeds could happen as early as 2022.

This time, the report came to us by of Australia Drive, who discovered the note on the Japanese blog carsensor.net indicates that a manual transmission is being used for the special GRMN Supra this model is powered by a high-powered version of the BMW 3.0 liter S58 engine built by BMW. This is not the first time rumor was given, and it probably won’t be the last – unless, of course, it’s true.

As Automatic log previous report, Upcoming BMW M3 and M4 will offer a manual transmission with the lower power features of the S58 engine, so maybe the unicorn limited edition Supra will do the same. On the other hand, Last May BMW announced a manual transmission for new Z4 In Europe, that roadster is powered by a low-powered version of the same 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder sold in the Z4 and Supra here. As a result, the Supra could get a bar shift, but one that’s mated to a four-cylinder, not a six. A left field option mentioned elsewhere Toyota protect S55 inline-six 405 hp from electric current M2 Competition, along with that car’s six-speed manual, consider BMW car coupe will be replaced shortly.

We recommend treating this with a grain of salt, as usual, but we also cannot rule it out entirely, especially given the potential threat of Nissan’s cheaper price, Z-car manual transmission on the horizon.
