‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ season 15 finale crowns next superstar – The Hollywood Reporter

RuPaul’s Drag Race has named its newest superstar.
Sasha Colby took home the crown in the season 15 finale of RuPaul’s Drag Race on Friday night. She competed against Anetra, Luxx Noir London and Mistress Isabelle Brooks, all of whom delivered spectacular performances on stage.
In the end, RuPaul chose Anetra and Sasha Colby as the final two queens, and they battled for the season 15 title with Amii Stewart’s lip-syncing performance of “Knock On Wood.”
Sasha Colby was awarded $200,000, more than any other queen received during the making of the main series. Miss Congeniality season 14, Kornbread The Snack Jeté handed back its title to this year’s winner and the $10,000 grand prize to Malaysia Babydoll Foxx.
“Sasha Colby is the kind of talent that comes along once in a generation,” Rupaul said in a statement. “She embodies all the qualities of America’s Next Drag Superstar and more. Anetra, Luxx Noir London and Mistress Isabelle Brooks each had an incredible fight for the crown, but in the end, Sasha proved herself to be invincible. She can rule long!”
The season 15 finale featured a performance of “Built on Drag” by celebrity guest judge Orville Peck from Wig: Rusticitya surprise performance from twice Drag race Jinkx Monsoon winner and a video tribute to legendary fashion designer Bob Mackie. The episode also includes first looks at new seasons of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars And Queen of the universepremieres on Paramount+ on May 12 and June 2, respectively.
