Fight
- Kiev has claimed responsibility attack in Makiivka, a Russian-held city in Donetsk, which Russia said killed 63 soldiers. Ukraine’s Defense Ministry said the death toll was close to 400.
- President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says Russia is planning a protracted campaign Iran’s drone attack to “deplete” Ukraine.
- Ukraine’s Defense Ministry said it had “successfully shot down” 39 Shahed-136/131 drones, two Orlan-10 drones and one Kh-59 cruise missile.

- Former German soldier and NATO general Hans-Lothar Domrose said a ceasefire in Russia’s war against Ukraine could be expected in 2023 and even as early as mid-year.
