Russian Ex-Dominatrix Guilty of Poisoning Doppelgänger With Cheesecake

A former New York City dominate who fed her lookalike friend a poisoned cheesecake in an identity theft plot was found guilty of attempted murder on Wednesday.

RussiaViktoria Nasyrova, 47, was found guilty of trying to kill eyelash stylist Olga Tsvyk by serving her a thorny dessert. “She laced with a deadly drug to a slice of cheesecake so she could steal an unsuspecting victim’s most valuable asset, her identity,” said Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz. in a statement on Thursday. “Fortunately, her victim survived and the poison led immediately to the culprit.”

Katz explained that the perpetrator and the victim looked alike, with dark hair and matching skin tones, and that Nasyrova had hoped to be transformed into Tsvyk.

On August 28, 2016, Nasyrova appeared at Tsvyk’s house in queen with cheesecake on an urgent eyelash appointment. After eating two slices of the cake herself, Nasyrova then handed the third piece to Tsvyk. Prosecutors said Tsvyk quickly became unwell and unconscious, after which doctors said she almost had a heart attack.

After being found by a friend and rushed to the hospital, Tsvyk recovered and returned home to find valuables including her passport and jewelry were missing. Prosecutors say an examination of scum from a box of cheesecakes revealed traces of phenazepam, a powerful sedative developed in the Soviet Union. They also claimed that Nasyrova spread phenazepam pills around Tsvyk’s unconscious body to make it look like a suicide.

Nasyrova was arrested and in 2018 indicted for attempted murder. In addition to being found guilty of attempted murder, Nasyrova was also found guilty of imprisonment and unlawful assault.

She now faces up to 25 years in prison at her sentencing hearing scheduled for March 21.

Although she did not testify at the trial, Nasyrova previously denied the allegations by claiming that Tsvyk was just sick from something else. “The last time I saw Olga, she wasn’t feeling well – she said she ate something or got food poisoning,” Nasyrova told the newspaper. New York Post Office in a prison interview in 2017.

At the trial, prosecutors also called for the testimony of other alleged victims, who allege they were influenced by a previous poisoning plot involving Nasyrova. Ruben Borukhov, 54, testified that he passed out after eating some fish served to him by Nasyrova at her Brooklyn apartment in 2016. He said the following weeks were hazy but sober. When he returned, he discovered that his watch was gone and that his credit card had incurred about $2,600 in strange fees.

And the court also heard testimony from the daughter of Alla Alekseenko, a Russian woman whom Nasyrova allegedly murdered in 2014. Nadezda Ford, Alekseenko’s daughter, told the jury that someone stole it. Valuables include the family’s gold and a toothbrush from her mother’s house after her death.

Ford said she faced Nasyrova over allegations of poisoning her mother, and that Russian authorities arrested and interrogated the former ruler, but they eventually released her.

They charged Nasyrova with the murder of Alekseenko in late 2014 and Interpol issued a Red Notice for her arrest after it was discovered that Nasyrova had left the country. At Sheepshead Bay in Brooklyn, Nasryova worked as a dominator under the name “Rachel” or “Mara” before she was eventually found and arrested by the NYPD in 2017.

Speaking about Wednesday’s ruling, Nasryova attorney Christopher W. Hoyt said: “While we’re disappointed with the jury’s verdict, we respect it and are exploring options. own in the future.”
