Simply days after cinematographer Halyna Hutchins died following a tragic accident on the set of the film, Rust, extra particulars surrounding the incident are starting to emerge.
Based on a search warrant executed by the Santa Fe County Sheriff’s workplace and obtained by E! Information, actor Alec Baldwin was rehearsing with a prop gun when the incident occurred.
“The rehearsal befell inside a church construction and concerned Alec drawing his weapon and pointing it on the digicam,” the warrant states, noting that, in response to director Joel Souza, he “believed the gun was secure and used the time period ‘chilly gun’ whereas explaining the protection announcement.” After rehearsal, the solid and crew then took a lunch break. Based on the warrant, Souza stated that after they returned, he was not sure if the firearm utilized by Baldwin had been checked once more for security.
Souza additionally informed authorities that when the solid and crew resumed, Baldwin was rehearsing a ‘cross draw,’ with the prop gun and Souza “was wanting over the shoulder of Halyna, when he heard what seemed like a whip after which loud pop.”
