Samsung is working on a multi-purpose expandable display, concept patent discovered: Report
Samsung may be working on an expandable display, according to a recent concept patent. This patent is for an expandable display using a rolling mechanism. The Korean giant may have developed this design to reduce the need for secondary screens. It will allow Samsung to have only a single screen on the device that can be extended with additional screens when required. Since it’s only a patent, we can’t be sure if the design will actually go into production.
According to a report by 91Mobiles, SAMSUNG filed a patent with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), which was published on May 27. This patent is said to suggest that this display can be extended in all directions. If this new expandable display design shows promising results, Samsung may list it on its website along with other novel concept displays.
A past report hints that Samsung may unveil a third foldable device alongside the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Galaxy Z Fold 4. The device could be a slide-out phablet with a rollable display, similar to that. like the design concept of this expandable screen or it can be a foldable smartphone with three screens. This third device is expected to be limited in production within the first year of production.
In related news, the specifications of the Galaxy Z Flip 4 have been revealed leaked by tipster Yogesh Brar.
