Silicon Valley Reads has launched the theme for its 2022 group finding out program: The Power of Kindness, Resilience, and Hope.

“This 12 months’s theme permits us to work together in dialog in regards to the transformative vitality of kindness, highlight our distinctive functionality for resilience, and assemble hope for our future,” acknowledged Dr. Mary Ann Dewan, Santa Clara County Superintendent of Schools, who serves as Silicon Valley Reads Co-Chair along with San Jose Library Director Jill Bourne and Santa Clara County Librarian Jennifer Weeks.

The useful non-fiction books chosen to stress the theme are “See No Stranger” by Sikh activist, filmmaker and civil rights lawyer Valarie Kaur; “Enough about Me” by Richard Lui, who left his dream job as an NBC Information/MSNBC anchor to take care of his ailing father in San Francisco; and “A Dream Generally known as Dwelling” by Reyna Grande, who immigrated to the Bay House at age 9 and at last went to UC Santa Cruz.

The chosen fiction titles are “The Woman With the Louding Voice” by Abi Daré, “The Authenticity Enterprise” by Clare Pooley and “The Story of Arthur Truluv” by Elizabeth Berg.

The gathering of companion books for youths and youths shall be launched on siliconvalleyreads.org, along with a schedule of events, along with creator lectures, panel discussions, educational events, demonstrations, performances, pupil actions, story cases, and an art work exhibition that will occur. place in February and March.
