The only reason to watch the Giants – or justify putting them on national television – is Saquon Barkley. New York shopping for him around is like getting rid of the last real tiger left in their depressed traveling circus. The only remaining repertoire will be a sad clown of a midfielder and tall-rope action that was once the Giants’ main office last.

I understand the trauma angle, but some G-Men fans are just yearning for a proven deal. They still think New York should never have used the second pick in the draft while running again. They’re not wrong, but he’s on the team. The only people who can change the past are Avengers and Superman.

Unique point in trading the face of the fourth franchise-Pick the ring is regardless.

Barkley never made it due to numerous factors a season ago. Believe me, I know he was sorely disappointed. I spent over $50 on him in fantasy. Coming back from an ACL tear is hard, and it’s even more difficult when you miss a big part of the season with a severe ankle sprain.

However, he still has outstanding plays.

The wobble and vision that made his explosions dangerous were still there, and he displayed explosive flashes.

I don’t think his old self is gone, but like his old self, he doesn’t get much help.

When you join the terrible attack line, the gameplay is predictable/poorand Daniel Jones or Mike Glennon’s QB game, you’ll hate watching the Giants as much as their fans hate Dave Gettleman. They scored over 25 points just three times last year, and their top two-the scoring results of the 2021 campaign, 27 and 29 points, come to Barkley on the field, according to Pro Football Reference.

The running game is in the last third of the tournament, and the passing game takes second-Lowest total yardage in the NFL. Completed O-line 30th in Pro Football Focus’ final strike line ranking. Handling Andrew Thomas was the only bright spot, and he had his second surgery in years with a problem left ankle, USA Today reported. (He should be back in the off-season, but you never want to see injury reoccur for your best manager.)

Also, I’ve enjoyed high form during Kadarius Toney’s rookie season, Yung Joka less likely to have inspired matches because you can’t serve him more than 20 times a game. They could spend loads of money and draft capital to give Jones the most luxurious Ferrari, but he could hardly get the car out of the second gear. The Giants have yet to have a 1,000-yard receiver since Odell Beckham Jr. be shipped to Cleveland.

What should be addressed first – beyond the chain of events leading up to Brian Flores sues team – is a midfielder. It’s okay to stick with him for an extra year because you don’t like the draft class, but at least give him the most realistic path to success.

Jones’ style of play is more in line with Saab or Volvo, something reliable with a high safety rating. Running the ball and playing defensively is the only way you win with an extra midfielder. The Giants have a guy who can do either of those things – and does it even better when he’s not stuck in defense behind the scenes.

The mode is finally here and in exchange for a fan favorite. Repeating history would be cruel, and two franchise players hugging the Lombardi Cup for different teams would just be. (While we were here, Beckham burned the Bengal during the Super Bowl until he was injured. His career may be in jeopardy, but that wasn’t when he left New York.)

If you want to trade a player who should never have been so high draft in the first round, Jones is the one to cap your roster with a Big Blue hued ceiling, not Barkley. It’s also not a stupid idea to see how new GM Joe Schoen does in his first draft before allowing him to sell off the only draw on the team.

(Barkley is really the only fantasy player on the list worthy of regular dummy action games. One sign that your fantasy team is attractive is how many Giants players you start with. I’ll no more being fooled by Evan Engram.)

The Giants loyalists who watched, in the hands of Bloody Mary, every Sunday will continue to watch because it is their nature. And as long as the Giants are one of the most popular teams in the NFL, the league will continue to put them in prime time slot.

If the team continues to operate and then play as a bottom feeder, fans of the NFL and the Giants will at least be able to enjoy the closest thing New York has to a star.
