Seahawks explores potential commercial scenarios of Deshaun Watson
The Russell Wilson era in Seattle ended on Tuesday when the Seahawks swapped the star quarterback for the Denver Broncos, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they’ve given up on competing next season.
Pro Football Network’s Aaron Wilson reports that the Seahawks will explore commercial scenarios for Deshaun Watson. Seattle acquired Drew Lock as part of a deal with Wilson, but now they have the draft capital needed to acquire a player like Watson.
Like Wilson, Watson has a full ban. The Houston Texans star will have to approve a deal with Seattle or any other team. We know at least two other NFC groups are thought to be of interest.
Many teams were hesitant to pursue Watson due to sexual assault allegations against him. Prosecutors have yet to announce whether the 26-year-old will face criminal charges. Once more clear on that, the Texans may have an easier time dealing with him.
